About Me

IMG_5409Hey! I am Matt Patch. I first became involved in missions in 2009 when I went on the World Race — an 11-month, 11-country pilgrimage around the world. After the World Race I felt called to return to Kenya to begin a long-term ministry. I’m really passionate about discipleship and helping people recognize and step into their identity and calling. My dream was to empower Kenyan believers to minister to their own people.

In 2012 I started 61project as a discipleship program. 61project ministers hundreds of people within the Maai Mahiu community through evangelism and service outreach, after school programs, and educational sponsorships. In December 2015 I turned a majority of the leadership of 61project over to the local staff and have stepped into a role with an organization called Oasis for Orphans. By joining Oasis and becoming a “Site Mentor” I will now be ministering to staff and children in a couple different locations in southwest Kenya. I’m also working with Oasis in creating and implementing holistic development curriculum as well as assisting in new site development. About Oasis for Orphans

Matt Patch Missionary in KenyaOasis for Orphans is a Christian organization that exists to rescue orphaned and vulnerable children in southwest Kenya and to develop them physically, spiritually, economically, and socially, enabling these children to one day be contributing members of their community and future kingdom leaders in their country. The Oasis holistic development plan concentrates on four key elements – physical, spiritual, educational and social. Our goal is to understand, measure, and mature every child in these areas.
